Show and Tell Friday: Garden 'from scratch'

Hi and this is my first time to participate.  I moved to my cottage home 11 years ago.  The majority of the yard is in the front and side of the house.  There was one small tree that had to be taken out because it was plumbing invasive.  It was a blank slate.  Everything that has been planted has been since then; and I have added lots of yard art from thrifty sources like garage sales, thrift stores and found freebies.  I change things out as they become too weatherized.  A few years ago, I went "green" or grass less.  It saves on water and labor.  Today, I am sharing some shots from this spring.  I live in southern California and I am happy that I can garden virtually all year.  It is very peaceful; and my pets like it when I garden.

THANK YOU Cindy for hosting this opportunity for everyone to share.  I love other people's creativity.

  3. Love your garden of treasures! I, too, have a garden that evolved from using what I had on hand and sharing flowers and starts from anyone who wanted to play. Today people say, oh you are a wonderful gardner and I say, no, I have just lived here a very long time and this is what survived - LOL! Thank you for stopping by my blog today!

  4. Hi,
Your garden is darling! We moved to a house that had NO landscaping and needed soooo much work- I found plants I loved and put them in the garden to create a warmth and welcoming feel. Your garden is lovely! Great job!
