No Bake Cookies: Heritage Recipe

Beverly from How Sweet the Sound asked all participants to share a holiday recipe this week for Pink Saturday.  My grandmother Martha made these.  No fail.  Make 'em big.  Easy skill level.

No Bake Cookies
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/3 cup cocoa
1 stick margarine
2 1/2 cups quick oatmeal
1 cup flaked coconut
Mix oatmeal and coconut in large bowl, set aside. Mix first four ingredients in medium sauce pan. Bring to a boil on low heat. Boil 3 minutes. Pour mixture over oatmeal and coconut, mix thoroughly. Drop by tablespoon onto waxed paper. Let stand until firm.
