Pink Shabby Chic Christmas Tree

I put up my pink tree today. This year I decorated it with purple ornaments that I had run across this summer at a garage sale; then I added some white balls that I tied with pink chenille ties. I nestled angels & a ballerina in the branches. I put a small umbrella on the table on one side & family 1950 star burst ornaments on the other side. No lights. The tree top was made in Romania but bought at a Woolworth's Dime Store not too long before they closed forever. I will refine it as I go along & maybe add some more embellishments. Trevor had to check it out. The tree was originally a Barbie tree from the thrift store where I volunteer. It looks prettier in person. But it is a good example of how with a little treasure hunting, you can have a one-of-a-kind tree. You can adjust it to your own budget too.

  1. Whaat a pretty tree! I haven't seen a pink tree in any of the stores here...The colors of your ornaments really accent the pink tree.

  2. Carrie,
    Thanks for your comment.
My tree is by now almost vintage but originally a Barbie tree. I am not sure what city you live in but look in the thrift or vintage shops. A couple of years ago some of the gift shops were selling pink trees (reproductions of the 1950's) at least in this area. If you find one, let us all know. monah
