Monarch China Plates "York"
Click on picture to enlarge...I found these plates at a resale store this week. I remember when I started as a dealer/seller in 1990, I had some of these but like so many things they get bought up & kept and we don't see them on the open market much anymore. This spring my friend took me to the Santa Ana Home & Garden Tour. My favorite house (shabby chic decor) had a long white washed table set in these dishes. The home owner had a full set & had inherited them from her grandmother or aunt. The colors are so rich and they look so pretty. (made in Japan).

Ohh, these dishes are a wonderful find...the pattern is very pleasing and the colors allow you to use various placemats or tablecloths and napkins!
